Project description

The existing single Armco culvert is upgraded to four channels of 4 x 3,6m portal culvert pipes. The approach roads were overtopped during flood rains. The rehabilitation consisted of replacing the Armco culvert and widening the width of the crossing to a two-way traffic including a walkway. Additional erosion protection measures will be done using gabion cages and mattresses, wing walls and headwalls on both upstream and downstream of the crossing.

ZMCK responsibilities

Services included, soil and borrow pit investigations, preliminary and detailed design, contract documentation, tendering, adjudication, contract administration and management and supervision of construction.
